oaxaca ethnobotanical garden, mexico

The Ethnobotanical Garden of Oaxaca is located behind the beautiful San Jeronimo cathedral, and exhibits the diverse plant life found in various temperate zones of Oaxaca state. It's an impressive collection, and makes for a  great few hours walking amongst the greenery whilst learning about the history of botanics and cultivation in Mexico. We were part of a tour that went around (the public are unable to enter garden unaccompanied, so you'll need to enter as part of the tour), and although I do not have the greenest of thumbs, found it incredibly interesting and beautiful - especially being a big fan of succulents and cacti!

next: visiting the weekly markets of Etla.
