wanaka, new zealand:

Wanaka is one of my favourite Central Otago towns and lake areas. A smaller but buzzy alpine town, Wanaka is perched on one of the most spectacular of lakes and surrounded by snow-capped mountains. About a 45 minute drive from Queenstown, I recommend driving through the Crown Pass if weather permits, as it is a truly spectacular drive.
We were in Wanaka for a few days, using it as a base to explore other areas like the Aspiring National Park, Hast Pass, the West Coast and Queenstown. Below are a few snaps of gorgeous Lake Wanaka and it's surrounds.

next: Queenstown.
